We will begin our tour with pick-up from your hotel, provided it is in the central areas of Lima or Miraflores. Our first stop will be a panoramic view of Huaca Pucllana, an ancient pre-Inca ceremonial center of the Lima culture, located in the heart of the Miraflores district.
Tour of the Historic Center of Lima
Next, we will head to the Historic Center of Lima, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here we will admire monuments and colonial buildings such as the Plaza Mayor, Plaza San Martín, the Government Palace, the Lima Cathedral, the Archbishop's Palace, and old mansions with traditional balconies.
Visit to the Central Reserve Bank of Peru Museum
We will continue with a visit to the Central Reserve Bank Museum, which houses a valuable collection of ceramics, textiles, sculptures, and gold objects from the main pre-Columbian cultures of Peru. Note: The museum is closed to the public on Saturday afternoons, Sundays, and all day Monday.
Entry to the San Francisco Monumental Complex and its catacombs
We will then proceed to one of the most impressive points of the tour: the San Francisco Monumental Complex. We will visit its Baroque church, decorated cloisters, old library, and descend into the famous catacombs, part of the old colonial burial system.
Tour of Modern Lima: San Isidro and Miraflores
Next, we will explore modern Lima. We will pass through San Isidro, where we will visit the historic El Olivar Forest, and then head to the Miraflores district. We will visit the Love Park, walk along the boardwalk with views of the Pacific Ocean, and finish at the Larcomar shopping center, located on a cliff overlooking the sea.
Return to the hotel and end of the tour
We will conclude the tour by returning to your hotel in Lima or Miraflores (central areas), after a day that combines history, art, culture, and modernity in the City of Kings.
