Start of the tour – Historic center
The tour begins with a visit to Qoricancha, the legendary Temple of the Sun, considered one of the most important sacred spaces of the ancient Inca empire. Today, it is integrated into the Convent of Santo Domingo, which allows us to appreciate a surprising fusion between Inca architecture and Spanish colonial architecture.
Sacsayhuaman – Ceremonial fortress
Then we move to Sacsayhuaman, one of the most emblematic archaeological complexes in Cusco. This imposing fortress stands out for its walls made of enormous carved stone blocks, assembled with millimeter precision. In addition, from this point you can get some of the best panoramic views of the city.
Q’enqo – Ritual center
We continue with the visit to Q'enqo, an Inca ceremonial center carved into rock, which would have been used for religious rituals, sacrifices and funerary practices. Its labyrinthine design and symbolic spaces reflect the strong spiritual component of the Inca culture.
Pucapucara – Military checkpoint
We continue towards Pucapucara, known as “the red fortress” for the color of its stones at sunset. This structure served as access control functions to the city of Cusco and offered services to travelers on the old Inca trail.
Tambomachay – Water Temple
Our last visit will be to Tambomachay, a center of water worship, where you can see fountains, aqueducts and stone channels that demonstrate advanced Inca hydraulic engineering. This place was probably used for purification and fertility rituals.
Return to Cusco
At the end of the circuit, we will return to the city of Cusco, concluding a tour full of living history and ancestral legacy.
